مقایسه خواص پیشرانه‌های جامد مرکب بر پایه HTPB و NHTPB/HTPB

Abstract:

Hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) is the most commonly used binder in composite solid propellants. However, due to its non-energetic character, in practice it is just a dead weight; Therefore, replacing HTPB with an energetic polymer is essential. In this research, nitrated hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene resin (NHTPB) with 12.2% nitration rate, in combination with HTPB resin was used as binder. Thus, the HTPB propellant base formulation (HB) was prepared as a reference sample and in terms of physical-mechanical properties, burning rate and sensitivity were compared with two other cured formulations: the propellant formulation with binder ratio of 5% NHTPB to 95% HTPB (NH5) and the other with binder ratio of 10% NHTPB to 90% HTPB (NH 10). The results showed that, with increasing NHTPB to HTPB ratio from 5% to 10%, Young's modulus, burning rate, impact and friction sensitivities were increased in comparison to reference propellant, and the cross-linking density, hardness, and tension were decreased.

اثر مقدار دی‌مریل دی‌ایزوسیانات بر رفتاررئولوژیکی و خواص مکانیکی یک پیشرانه جامد مرکب بر پایه HTPB

Several parameters affecting the rheological and mechanical properties of solid composite propellants.  Among them, the molar ratio of isocyanate (NCO) to hydroxyl (OH) groups (R value) is one of the important factors. In this research, the effects of changing in the weight ratio of dimeryl diisocyanate (DDI) curing agent related to hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene investigated on different pr...

مطالعه پارامترهای موثر بر خواص مکانیکی پیشرانه جامد مرکب بر پایه HTPB/Al/AP

The success of the composite solid propellant motor depends on the proper stress-strain behavior of the propellant grain against tensile, compression and shear stresses and intensive changes in gravity during launch. In this paper, the effect of formulation components and other parameters affecting mechanical properties (tensile strength, elongation and elastic modulus), and their effects AP/Al...

بررسی خواص مکانیکی و ضربه ویژه پیشرانه جامد مرکب بر پایه آمیزه HTPB/PEG و نرم‌کننده بوتیل‌ننا

A way to increase the specific impulse of solid propellants is using the energetic components as energetic binder or energetic plasticizer in the propellant formulations. Hydroxy terminated poly butadiene (HTPB) is the one of pre-polymer which was specifically synthesized for its use as a propellant. Incorporating of PEG into HTPB chains lead to increasing the polarity of binder and maybe preve...
